Claude Monet
1840 - 1926
Founder of French Impressionism
Collection of Colonel John Thomas North

Here is a 19th Century landscape of the Scottish school that I have restored on the left side while retaining the original and damaged condition on the right. This painting is 23” high and 29” wide. Note the holes in the lower right corner – similar holes were repaired and inpainted just above where the road curves right into the trees. Also, notice the scrapes and abrasions in the trees at the top right – similar damage, restored by inpainting, was common in the trees at the left side of the painting.

Gerhard Terburg (or Ter Borch) 1617-1681

 AFTER

Gerhard Terburg  was a Dutch painter who was contemporary with Vermeer and was influenced by Velasques. Terburg's works are comparitively rare; only about eighty have been catalogued. Six of these are at the Hermitage, six at the Berlin Museum, five at the Louvre, four at the Dresden Museum, and two at the
Wallace Collection.
